IN THE NAMES OF LOVE
Open Edition of Issuance 2021
Hand Tufted 100% Wool and Viscose
Various (Diameter 250cm, 200x300cm, etc.),
This exquisite carpet collection draws inspiration from the writings of Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim Al- Jawziyya, particularly his exploration of love in the Arabic language. In his works, the revered scholar identified fifty distinct names and synonyms for love, each carrying its own nuanced meaning and poetic depth. This collection serves as a tribute to the richness and complexity of Arabic linguistics, transforming these profound expressions of love into an artful and tactile experience.
Each carpet is meticulously hand-tufted, featuring a woolen background that provides warmth and durability. The calligraphy, written in the distinguished Traditional Thuluth script, is embossed in viscose, creating a striking contrast in texture and sheen. This intricate craftsmanship ensures that each piece is not only visually captivating but also rich in cultural and artistic significance.
The collection comprises a variety of layouts and dimensions, designed to adapt to different spaces while maintaining its artistic integrity. With a palette of ten distinct color schemes, each carpet harmonizes tradition with contemporary aesthetics, making it a timeless addition to any interior.
In the Names of Love is more than just a collection of carpets—it is a celebration of language, love, and the enduring beauty of Arabic calligraphy, woven into art that bridges heritage and modernity.
