Inspired by the words of His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani—“Our Past, Our Present, and Our Place in the World”, from his speech at the opening of the National Museum of Qatar on March 27, 2019—this artwork invites introspection and dialogue with oneself across time.

TO YOUR PAST SELF: I honor your resilience. You endured struggles that only you truly understood, yet you never gave up. Even in moments of uncertainty, you held on to hope, knowing that brighter days lay ahead. You carried the weight of challenges, but you persevered. Be proud of that strength. Honor the hardships, but never let them define you—because they led you to who you are today.

TO YOUR PRESENT SELF: Amidst all the noise, take a moment to focus on what truly matters. Keep striving, keep pushing forward, and trust that your dedication will lead to something meaningful. Every step you take now shapes the path ahead—stay open to new opportunities, as they will unlock doors you never imagined.

TO YOUR FUTURE SELF: Have you achieved the dreams you once envisioned? Are you fulfilled? But most importantly— are you happy with where you stand? I hope you have surrounded yourself with people who uplift you and bring you joy. I hope you embrace the lessons of the past and use them to build a future filled with purpose.
